REPOSTED from MasterCard Newsroom!
What better way to take advantage of a nice spring day then by riding a bike? This Earth Day, Friday, April 22, New Yorkers can do their part and go car-free by taking advantage of a free Citi Bike ride courtesy of MasterCard!
Riding a bike is not only a fun activity but it’s also a form of transportation fueled solely by the power of muscles. Recognizing the environmental value of a bike ride, Citi Bike has pledged its support of the New York City Council’s car-free initiative.
The car-free initiative in NYC is about rethinking the way New Yorkers use the streets to raise awareness of the benefits of being less dependent on cars.
“We’re excited to be sponsoring the Citi Bike initiative to go green this Earth Day,” said Chris Reid, executive vice president, MasterCard. “Working with Citi Bike to not only enhance the consumer experience but also to demonstrate our support for environmental protection by promoting a car-free Earth Day is a true honor.”
