About MindTravel 
Composer and pianist Murray Hidary is the creator of MindTravel. His provocative, improvisational, real-time compositions with the piano inspired by theoretical physics and wisdom traditions, take the audience on a transporting and expansive journey. It is an exploration in translating music into our daily thoughts, words and actions. To carry forward the lessons of music into our lives. To live with harmony, clarity and rhythm.
Murray has brought MindTravel to TEDx, Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Grace Cathedral, The National Arts Club and festivals including Wanderlust, Carlsbad and Burning Man. Mind Travel has been brought to audiences in theaters, beaches and parks including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Denver, New Orleans, London, San Diego, Montauk, New Jersey, Miami, Aspen, Oxford, Malibu, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Berlin, Italy and Croatia. ABOUT JAPAN DAY

Founded in 2007, Japan Day @ Central Park is an annual event designed by the Japanese community of New York to promote a deeper understanding of the Japanese culture and to say “Thank you, New York!” It has received official support by the Office of the Mayor, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, the Central Park Conservancy, New York Road Runners, the Consulate General of Japan in New York, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, The Nippon Club, and many other Japanese and American corporations. The event kicks off with the rousing Japan Run, a 4-mile mini-marathon and Kids' Races, hosted by New York Road Runners. The event continues with the Japan Day Festival featuring wide range of Japanese traditional and family-friendly activities, free samplings of popular Japanese cuisine, and powerful stage performances throughout the day.

Japan Day is organized with the following three missions in mind:

1.To show the local Japanese community’s appreciation toward their home city, New York.

2.To build bridges of cultural understanding between the people of Japan and the U.S.

Witness ice-carving artists use electric chain saws, chisels, and picks to transform more than 6,000 pounds of ice into a glistening replica of one of the Park’s most beloved statues.

As night falls, revel among colorful lights as the Mall becomes a vibrant silent disco with live DJs, all to celebrate Central Park Conservancy's preservation efforts.

There may not be snow on the ground*, but Winter Jam brings a day of frozen fun to the Big Apple! Presented by NYC Parks, Lake Placid, I Love NY, and I Ski NY, Winter Jam will feature activities for New Yorkers of all ages!

The waivers will be provided at the event. Participants under the age of 18 must have a legal guardian present with photo identification to sign the waiver. Waiting lines for the activities are subject to close early.

This event is free. Registration/tickets are not required and do not guarantee a headphone. Headphone quantities are limited. Open to all ages. No bag/coat check available. Quiet Events requires an ID or credit card to check out a pair of headphones. ID will be given back when headphones are returned. In the unlikely event that you lose the headphones you checked out, Quiet Events will charge a $100 replacement fee on-site.

Japan Day @ Central Park is a highly anticipated annual event in spring that celebrates Japanese culture with New Yorkers. Japan Day kicks off with the Japan Run, followed by the Kids' Race. Like traditional Japanese summer festivals, it provides food and activity tents as well as a stage program displaying a wide range of Japanese culture, including both traditional and contemporary performances.

Ice Festival
This Valentine’s Day, celebrate your love of Central Park at our fourth annual Ice Festival. Witness ice-carving artists from Okamoto Studio  use electric chain saws, chisels, and picks to transform more than 3,000 pounds of ice into a glistening replica of the Park’s most romantic statue  ― Romeo and Juliet by Milton Hebald (1966).
As night falls, revel among colorful lights as the Mall becomes a 1980s-themed silent disco with live DJs, all as part of Central Park Conservancy’s 35th Anniversary celebration.

What is a Silent Disco?
It's a dance party with headphones; you choose the music. Starting at 5:00 pm, two live DJs take the stage at the same time, playing 80's, Top 40, and your favorite NYC artists. You choose the channel with your favorite music genre and dance the night away. The glowing, color-coded headsets show which music other partygoers are listening to, so you can dance along with your friends.
What to Wear
Baby, it's cold outside! Dress warmly; the event is entirely outdoors. Otherwise, dress to celebrate  Central Park Conservancy’s 35th Anniversary  styles from the 1980's and today are welcome!

Open to all ages. Free; RSVP via Eventbrite is strongly recommended but not required. Onsite registration is also available. No bag/coat check available. Quiet Events requires an ID or credit card to check out a pair of headphones.
