Julliard ChamberFest 2017 - Free Concert Performances!

Juilliard ChamberFest 2017

Ninety-five Juilliard musicians will perform in eight free concerts over the course of six days during ChamberFest 2017. This year's festival begins on Monday, January 9 and runs through Saturday, January 14. All ChamberFest concerts are free, but tickets are required (except for the January 11 "Wednesdays at One" concert). To find tickets visit events.juilliard.edu.

Students who participate in ChamberFest return early from winter break for a week of intensive coaching on pieces they've chosen to study, and they perform these works the following week in public concerts. Juilliard ChamberFest presents major works in the chamber music repertoire by Beethoven, Brahms, Dvořák, Mozart, Schubert, among many others, and will include several contemporary works by Olivier Messiaen, Mieczyslaw Weinberg, John Harbison, and György Kurtág.

ChamberFest performances take place in Juilliard's Paul Hall and Peter Jay Sharp Theater and in Alice Tully Hall. Click here to see full schedule and visit juilliard.edu to see everything going on at Juilliard.

Enjoy the shows,
Terresa =)

Ends 2/1 - Glowing Cube Erected At Seaport For Shopping, Concerts, Workshops & Movie Screenings!

REPOST from RACKEDNY:
During the month of January, visiting the South Street Seaport will be a, erm, sweeter experience than usual. The Sugarcube, a white, 70-foot-long inflatable igloo has arrived at Fulton Street for free concerts, movie screenings, vinyl sales, and art workshops all month long (though sadly, it does not also act as a bouncy castle).
On afternoons from Thursday to Sunday, there'll be a different themed event—Thursdays will have movie screenings (Enchanted, Little Fugitives, Toxic Avengers, and Teenage Mutant Turtles II); on Fridays, there'll be a DJ happy hour followed by concerts; on Saturdays, bring the kiddos to all-ages art workshops; and on Sundays, shop for records at the Music Market from noon to 5pm.
For the full schedule of events, head here.

Have fun,
Terresa =)

Go ahead and pinch that M&M Peanut's cheek! Or blow him a kiss.  He might just melt!
Snag some Snickers and M&M Peanuts samples in the street.

The Super Bowl Boulevard is coming to an end on Saturday at 10PM.  Don't miss out on all the festivities and fun events from 34th Street to 47th Street on Broadway.

I didn't get a chance to check out the area from 42nd to 47th Street, but you can get a close-up view of the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Also, another great opportunity to note is that there are free autograph signings from noon to 5PM, from current and former NFL stars, while there are concerts starting at 8PM on Broadway between 39th and 40th Streets. That is a rare and great opportunity to get a handful of autographs of the NFL stars all in one place without leaving the city and for free.  Don't miss out!

Free sample of McCafe coffee in a backpack!

I found Waldo/Ronald from McDonald's - serving McCafe Coffee!

Toboggan Run! 60 feet tall and located between 40th and 41st Street on Broadway

Papa John's is serving up a new topping called Double Cheeseburger! It smells and taste just like a cheeseburger, but looks like a pizza!

I'm all suited up! haha.

This is how you defy gravity when making the winning catch - give it a shot as you jump into a pool of sponges!

Live performances!

Fake snow - it's made of bubbles!
