Join Tech Entrepreneur & Shark Tank veteran Lori Cheek founder of Cheek’d a mobile dating app that makes missed connections obsolete.
Lori is a digital dating disrupter and considered one of the top 10 CEOs to watch. If there is one person who truly understands the meaning of being unstopped, it is Lori.
The idea for Cheek'd was born eight years ago.
After a long day at work, Lori and her co-worker go to a local bar. She notices that a man slips a business card to a woman who is with a companion. On the back of the business card he wrote, "let's have dinner." Then he walks out of the bar. The guy was unusual. Most people would have walked out without making contact. It had Lori thinking, "How many real-life connections are missed?"  She gave up her architectural career to change how we date.
You will learn how Lori started her business, got herself on the Shark Tank (she was chosen out of 40,000 applicants), to how she had one of the top tech developer create her app.  But more importantly, you will discover how she keeps on moving, jumping, pushing and walking through obstacles.
Everyone has great ideas, few know how to map them out, and fewer set forth the action to make them a reality.
Our fireside chats are different. Instead of talking about success we talk about “failure”. Research shows that “failure” is subjective. What one person see as failure another person views as a temporary setback, an opportunity and/or even a blessing.
While most chats with successful CEOs these days are centered on topics like what lead to starting the company, fortunate opportunities during and after launch and success stories, this fireside chats is on challenges, obstacles and roadblocks.
Let's face it, great ideas and talent are only part of the success equation. Research finds that the key ingredient to success is the ability to persevere. In fact, those who expect obstacles, roadworks and challenges are most equipped to succeed.

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."
            - Calvin Coolidge
It will be an honest conversation with Lori on her attitude and philosophy about adversity, obstacles and defeat and his approach to challenges. Her insights will leave you enlightened and empowered.
The fireside chat will be 30 to 40 minute long followed by Q & A and networking. The group will be small and intimate to give you the opportunity to ask questions and make meaningful connections.
Enjoy,
Terresa =)
