Ends 10/20/13 - Getty Station - BAAAA!

GETTY STATION! Not your typical gas station...
While I was chilling by the Highline and checking out a nearby art gallery, I walked by this gas station.  At first glance (and in the back of my mind), I'm thinking I've walked by here before and it's a gas station. Nothing special...well something's not quite right here...

Is that sheep? On fake grass?

Hmm... ::takes a closer look::

WOW, it's not a real gas station!

It's a piece of art! A groundbreaking public exhibition by the late artist Francois-Xavier Lalanne.

From September 17th to October 20th, this cool art exhibit is coming to an end, so make sure you take a peek before it disappears.

For more information or if you can't see this in person, go to www.gettystation.com, for photos and closeups of the cool sheep station!

Location: 239 10th Avenue (at 24th Street) (Map)

Here's a pic I snapped!
NOTE: The Getty filling station was purchased by SHVO Development and Victor Homes in 2013, and will be transformed to the premier collection of luxury residences near the High Line.  Getty Station will feature exhibitions for extended periods of time throughout the construction period and will eventually be incorporated into the building as a permanent element.
