Free food and drink in NYC: Soup dumplings and breakfast tacos

Not having to pay for what you're eating and drinking makes everything taste better.
To fill your belly and quench your thirst without shelling out any cash, consult our continuously updated list of complimentary bites and sips up for grabs around the city:
Yaso Tangbao
The Shanghainese fast-casual spot from three childhood friends serving their native street food, plus Joe Shanghai’s former “dumpling master” Zongxing Tu, is opening its first Manhattan location at 220 E. 42nd St. They launched their soup dumpling, or “tangbao”-focused concept in a tiny space in downtown Brooklyn, but the midtown outpost is the first to serve breakfast items such as scallion pancake breakfast "tacos" with egg and congee with pork rousong, steamy hot dumpling soup. Line up before 8 a.m. to try one of them on Wednesday, Jan. 24, or head over around 11 a.m., when the shop is giving away 100 orders of free soup dumplings to the first 100 customers in line.

Texas expats seeking authentic Tex-Mex eats can soon ride the Q train uptown for fajitas, queso and margaritas from the Gramercy restaurant’s second location, opening on the Upper East Side on Jan. 19. Start your morning any day next week (Jan. 22 through 26) at 1395 Second Ave. with free breakfast tacos starting at 8:30 a.m. — the first 100 people to show up get their first meal of the day on the house.
Enjoy,
Terresa =)
