Manhattanhenge 2016: When and where to see the sunset

Get ready for the Instagram-perfect sunset.
Manhattanhenge, the alignment of the sunset with Manhattan's grid, will happen on Sunday, May 29, the first occurrence of the year.
According to the American Museum of Natural History, half the sun will be aligned with the grid as it sets at 8:12 p.m. on Sunday. The full sun will be aligned at the same time on Monday, May 30.
To see the sunset, New Yorkers should go to clear cross streets, such as 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd and 57th streets. The museum recommends getting to the streets with the best views around 7:45 p.m.
The next Manhattenhenge will take place on July 11 and July 12 at 8:20 each night. The full sun will be aligned with the grid the first night and half the sun will align the second night.

Have fun,
