WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?

Social Media Week provides engaging, entertaining, educational, diverse content and experiences that helps us to think differently about human connectivity and our shifting relationship to technology. By showcasing provocative speakers, innovators and thought leaders, we examine how the ways we live, work and create can lead to meaningful change and a more productive life.
The SMW audience is made up of senior marketers, founders, entrepreneurs, influencers & digitally connected consumers across a range of industries including marketing, advertising, communications, media, publishing, technology, arts and entertainment.
Our global theme for 2015 is: Upwardly Mobile: The Rise of the Connected Class, asking the fundamental question: how can all humans achieve more in a connected world?
This February, we’re excited to explore “Upwardly Mobile” throughout the conference, and what this theme represents from today until 2022, when six billion individuals will be connected to each other online. The sessions you won’t want to miss feature leading companies sharing their top strategies and predictions of what’s happening, and what’s to come.
This includes BuzzFeed’s future of sharable storytelling achieved through GIFs, memes, and other cross-cultural media. Code and Theory will inspire brands to create memorable experiences, alongside Wieden + Kennedy’s innovations in creative advertising. Entertainment professionals will look to MTV to draw up the future of programming, while the creativity consultants of the Vimeo Video School teach us how to create and edit amazing content. Perhaps most impacted by mobile’s constant, global climb is news and journalism, and we’ll dive into the future of news and technology from the leaders behind The New York Times and WIRED.
