Hard to believe that just 25 years ago you could still smoke on an airplane. Imagine getting stuck next to a nervous chain smoker on your flight home for the holidays in today’s world.
But there are new pitfalls of holiday travel. Like wifi deserts. Yes, we speak of your uncle’s house, that bastion of New Year’s day football, odd poultry smells, and AOL dial-up services.
So why not carry your own?
Wakefield has partnered with Karma, 2012 TechStars grads and makers of the sleek pay-as-go hotspot to set you up for a whole year* of browsing whenever, wherever. Karma’s device offers another compelling catch – you get more data as others use your network.
And because you’ll need a new tablet to connect to your handy little hotspot, we’re tossing in an iPad Mini. (Sorry iPad Air: we’re still sold on the portability of the little guy.)
Enter here to win.
And stay safe out there, folks.
*The winner will receive 10GB of data. This should last around 12 months with normal use.
Now go forth (and skip the poultry).
Nitty Gritty:
3: Members of the same family arrested for smoking on a Canadian flight early this year
1988: Year FAA passed smoking bans on most US flights
2,500,000: Approximate number of current AOL dial-up subscribers in the US
