Walking by Macy's by Herald Square on 35th Street, I spy a huge sleigh hidden in the park with Samsung gifts galore.

What's going on here?

Any VR participants must be at least 13 years of age and accompanied by a legal guardian 18 or older.  A special 2-D experience is available for participants under 13.

Free Gear VR for the holidays!

Buy a Galaxy S7 edge or Galaxy S7, submit a valid offer claim and get a free Gear VR gift pack.

Here's the view from on top of the sleigh.

Participants wear VR glasses and Beats headphones and literally feel like they're on Santa's sleigh as the chairs move! Make sure to look left, right, above, below AND behind you!

For participants under 13, virtual reality glasses are not allowed as children's eyes are still in development and the effects on growing eyes are still unknown.  Therefore, they can view the monitor as they enjoy the ride.

Want all your gifts to be magically wrapped and looking this beautiful in time for the holiday gifting season without spending too much time or money? 

Samsung's got you covered! So you can have more time and money to be merry!

On Sunday, December 18, 2016 starting from 11AM to until around 8PM or so (I would get there earlier than later, they might leave early), Samsung is providing expert gift wrappers who will make your presents delightfully wrapped for FREE!

This includes the materials as well, which is the box, wrapping paper, ribbon and the gift tag!

There are size restrictions for your gifts. They are the following:

15" x 9" x 2"

17" x 11" x 2 2/12 "

24" x 14"

4" x 4" x 4"

There does not appear to be a limit to the number of gifts you can bring, but I wouldn't go overboard. 

Be prepared to lug your wrapped gifts back home. 

Some gifts might leave in a bigger box than they came in, so you might end up looking like a Samsung Santa with lots of blue boxed gifts.

As for the options of materials, it appears that they have only blue wrapping paper, silver or gray ribbon, silver, gold and one other color for the gift tag.

As you explore the cool Samsung experience flagship with virtual reality experiences, they will wrap your gifts.

Burn the patriarchy to the ground, just like Daenerys.

Westeros has taken over Astor Place.

HBO is putting fans inside its most epic scenes from the sixth season of “Game of Thrones” this Friday and Saturday with photo ops and a virtual reality experience. The magic of green screens lets you burn the patriarchy to the ground just like Daenerys did in the Temple of Dosh Khaleen, or be part of the fight in the Battle of the Bastards. Step into the underground forest where Bran Stark learned to hone his warg powers, then “hold the door” to protect him, or just sell out and get that photo sitting on the Iron Throne.

But the lines are sure to be the longest for Defend the Wall, which uses virtual reality to put you inside the Night’s Watch courtyard for some training with crossbows and shields. You can pre-register for a specific time slot, but it’s still first come, first served. There will also be behind-the-scenes footage, props and costumes, photo ops and more; you may even get a glimpse of what’s to come in the seventh season.

The “Game of Thrones” village will be open at Astor Place around the newly replaced Alamo cube (445 Lafayette St.) today and Saturday from 12:30-8 p.m. The seventh season of “Game of Thrones” is expected to air in summer 2017.

You might remember the good old days of the Samsung Galaxy Studio popup turned retail store that recently closed - read my post here and see all the related events and happenings that have occurred in the space.

As we mourn the lost of one of our favorite spots in SoHo, get excited for the recently opened Samsung 837, the flagship located in the Meatpacking District.

There are a lot of exciting interactives including a virtual reality tunnel, "Social Galaxy" installation by Black Egg, a cool pic collage, performances and events!

You will leave with a great experience, lots of instagramables! 
It definitely does not feel like just a store.

The Olympics are here! Samsung 837 is streaming the games live on 3 floor tall screens - come enjoy the excitement while you experience all that Samsung has to offer.

You can also use virtual reality (VR) at Samsung 837 to view 360 views of the Olympic games in action!

And two simulations using VR - including a roller coaster ride (it feels so real!) and a surfing experience on a surf board!
