12/18 - Lightsaber Battle NYC: Battle of Hoth Edition!

* THIS IS NOW A FAN-RUN EVENT!* We will not be distributing lightsabers at this event, but it is free and BYOL. If you contributed to the Tilt, your card was never charged and the hold will be reversed by Tilt shortly. Have fun! MTFBWY

JEDI AND SITH! We may have had a battle earlier this year, but now that The Force Awakens is about to rock the planet, many have been asking: What about NYC?! Well, we're going for the World Record for the Largest Lightsaber Battle in the World, so you got it!

Join us for a massive battle of Jedi vs. Sith in NYC on Star Wars Episode VII opening weekend. Pick a side of the force and use that venerable, ancient, glowing tool: the lightsaber, in the ultimate nocturnal showdown. In the past we have attracted up to 2000 warriors in New York City and Toronto, and we can expect even more this time :)

+ Friday December 18th - professional lightsaber demonstrations byLightsaberAcademy.com's local team the NEW YORK JEDI!
+ Midnight December 18th - Star Wars Episode VII premiers!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: Who is Newmindspace?

Newmindspace produces free, fun events around North America, including 5000-person pillow fights in New York City, giant games of Capture the Flag, and a 1000-person bubble battle in Dolores Park in June. They were founded in 2005 and exist to reclaim public space and make "living installations" using favorite childhood activities and thousands of people.

Q: Who is Lightsaber Academy?

Lightsaber Academy is run by veteran Lightsaber trainer Flynn Michael of the New York Jedi, the world's first organized Lightsaber Stage combat training club. Now, with partners from some of the best saber trainers in the world like Alain Bloch of the Golden Gate Knights, and LA's Noah Fleder of Forcestorm Entertainment for this event, we expand world-wide with a new Instructor Certification project. LightsaberAcademy.com is creating a socializing network for those of you who want to do this every week, and our history with Newmindspace has brought together this wide-spread community in unqiue moments that scream fun from the highest rooftops! This time, we are honored to be a part of this one with all of you at a time like no other in our planet's history.

Join us for a massive battle of Jedi vs. Sith in New York City. Pick a side of the force and use that venerable, ancient, glowing tool: the lightsaber, in the ultimate nocturnal showdown. In the past we have attracted up to 1000 warriors, and we can expect more this year :)

How it Works

RESERVATION LINK: https://newmindspace.myshopify.com/products/color-changing-lightsaber

For every $10 you contribute, we will reserve one lightsaber for you. Each lightsaber changes up to 6 colors is about 3' long. You will walk up to a big truck full of lightsabers, say your name, and we will give you the sabers.

After all the sabers have been distributed, we will gather in the park, split into Jedi and Sith, and the battle will begin!

Yes, of course, you can bring your own. If you get sabers from us:

ALL SABERS (We sold out last year) - $10
