Welcome to the Google Maps Santa Tracker!
On Christmas Eve we’ll be proudly showcasing a Santa’s dashboard, the technology that powers his sleigh during his around-the-world journey. We’ve received this special preview from one of Santa’s many developer elves, who are hard at work in the North Pole helping Santa prepare for his big day. Santa’s dashboard - featuring the latest and greatest in Google Maps technology and sleigh engineering - will allow you to follow his progress around the world, and also learn a little about some of his stops along the way.
Our friendly elves have also invited you to explore Santa’s village while Santa gets ready for his journey. So go ahead and explore his village, you might just find some fun activities and meet some interesting elves.

New Free Gifts to Make and Things to Do at the Samsung Galaxy Studio!
If you haven't heard of the Samsung Galaxy Studio, you've been missing out! They are now officially permanent, as they were once a temporary pop up. Read all about it here. The space located at 130 Prince Street is all decked out for the holidays with lighted trees and holiday decorations.

This is the new holiday customization schedule at the Design Studio where you can customize those items for free!
If you are still trying to figure out what to get your friends for the holidays or their birthday, check this out before the year ends - this might be disappearing in the new year!

This is how the mug looks like - it has a blue handle. The ornament comes in a star or snowflake shape and is made of ceramic, just like the mug. The material of the mug is subject to change. I noticed some plastic mugs when I was there.
In the selfie area, the background used to be the Rockerfeller Center Christmas tree.
I've caught the Samsung staff taking a selfie of themselves haha!
NOTE: The Samsung Galaxy Studio will be closing on Wednesday, December 24th at 4PM.

Christmas is almost here! If you haven't been to Dyker Heights in Brooklyn to see the decorated Christmas lighted houses, you have to see it in person!
There is even a Facebook group devoted to it - check it out here!
Below are some tips and pointers for getting there and the best way to view the area.

Getting to the Dyker Lights:
- Dyker Heights, Brooklyn: 11th Avenue to 13th Avenue and from 83rd to 86th Street
- Nearest Subways: D/M trains to 18th Ave
Dyker Lights Tips:
- Some displays go up right after Thanksgiving, but for the best viewing visit in mid-December
- Displays on weekends tend to be better than on weeknights
- Visit between 5-9 p.m. for the most intense lighting, before folks turn off the lights for the evening.
- Please Note: it's almost a mile from the subway to the densest areas with lights, so you might want to take a car or drive for the easiest viewing options
- Dress for the weather or prepare for slow-going in your car as folks ogle the lights while they drive
VISITOR INFORMATION:
Lights go up after Thanksgiving and last until
the New Year!
It just wouldn't be Christmas in Brooklyn
without them. Visit the Dyker Heights section of
Brooklyn (cross-streets: high 80's (83rd thru
86th mostly) between 11th thru 13th
avenues...and beyond!) and see the best
Christmas-light displays around. You can't miss
it. Post your best pics here!
Subway From NYC:
Please keep in mind that there is a bit of a walk
from each of the subway lines, even though the
following are the closest. Don't be shy and
please ask someone to direct you once exiting
the train, if necessary.
R train to 86th St. stop (last stop)
D train to 18th Ave. stop
M train to 18th Ave. stop
Express Bus from NYC: The following buses
leave you very close to the festivities, but you
have to find out when the last bus back to NYC
is in advance.
X28, x27, X38 - ask driver for 13th Ave. stop
and walk along 13th Ave. (across the street
from Dyker Park). You can also ask your
friendly bus driver to point you in the right
direction.
From NJ: Belt Pkwy East to 86th Street or Bay
8th Street Exit

If you find yourself getting all wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of shopping and gift-giving, consider this: The holidays aren't just about presents. The holidays are also about the joys of friendly rivalry, locking horns in a classic battle of wits, beating the competition, and emerging victorious!
In keeping with that tradition, we present the annual Namecheap Twitter Holiday Trivia Contest. If you think you have what it takes to be the trivia champ, join us December 20 through 24 for the contest. Starting at midnight EST on the 20th, we'll post new questions every hour. Questions will cover a variety of topics, and you might win a domain, an iPad or even a MacBook Air. Best of luck, brave trivia soldiers. See you on the 20th!
