Lost Tribe Expedition, Survival Eco-Challenge Race

October 4th, 2014 5pm

Frost Valley YMCA

Claryville, NY 12725 

This will be an overnight 12+hr challenge set in a remote and challenging section of the Catskills Wilderness.  It is a Level II challenge meaning obstacles and tasks will be more extreme and intense to include eco-challenge style challenges: canoeing, rock climbing with belay, rope swings, orienteering, and many more surprises. The race will consist of multiple tasks and challenges, some which may require the assistance of other competitors-COMPETITORS ARE SCORED AS INDIVIDUALS AND TASKS WILL BE INDIVIDUALLY BASED.  Competitors are allowed to work together in teams, but no assigned or team lead tasks for Level II-you are your own competitor.  Tasks and challenges will be designed to test everyone’s limits both mentally and physically. THERE WILL BE NO RANGER GAMES.  Licensed guides and rangers will be throughout the course to ensure your safety.  It is however, each competitor's responsibility to follow gear list recommendations and requirements and prepare for the event. Registration will include the cost of the challenge, t-shirt, guides, a unique finisher’s award, and the experience of a lifetime!

Don’t miss Tom Fruin and CoreAct’s collaborative project Reflection / Kolonihavehus in Brooklyn Bridge Park near Jane’s Carousel. Tom’s beautiful colorful plexiglass house, Kolonihavehus, will be on display throughout Festival hours and Reflection will be performed on Friday 6-9 pm, Saturday 1-3 pm and 7-9 pm and Sunday 12-2 pm and 4-6 pm.

The DUMBO Arts Festival is a FREE public event. Each year it seeks to highlight Brooklyn’s commitment to and presence in the arts community by presenting the best in local, national, and international art amid the breathtaking backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline.

The DUMBO Arts Festival attracts 200,000 visitors over 3 days with the participation of over 400 artists from a variety of disciplines, 100 studios, 50 galleries and stages and 100 programming partners. This year, the Festival will take place on Friday, September 26th, Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th. The official Festival hours are Friday 6pm to 9pm, Saturday noon to 9pm, Sunday noon to 6pm.

Art revelers can enjoy: outdoor and indoor visual art installations and exhibitions, digital art and projections, visiting artists in their studios or making murals on the street, dancers, poets as well as performers throughout the neighborhood, on street corners, and in the park.
