Free 'Hunger Games' Fitness Classes at New York Sports Club

Hey Hunger Game fans - here's a cool opportunity to get trained like a tribute for free!! See below.

New York Sports Club is again offering a Hunger Games-inspired fitness classed. Dubbed "Train Like a Tribute," the twice a week classes (Mondays at 1:30pm and Fridays at noon at the 61 W 62nd Street club) are free and open to both gym members and non-members.

The gym offered the class last year when the first Hunger Games movie came out. "The second movie is a little bit more intense and so is the program," NYSC master trainer Eli Ingram told the Post. All of the moves reference the movie, including using a bow like Katniss to work the upper back and biceps, cracking a whip like the citizen-punishing peacekeepers, and running intervals on the treadmill with the highest include possible "so it mimics running outside alongside a mountain."

I just happened to be walking by Bryant Park when I came across the Winter Wonderlab presented by Google!

It will be here from November 16th 2013 to December 22, 2013.

Google is getting into the holiday spirit, opening popup retail shops called Winter Wonderlabs. In these shops, folks can get their hands on the latest Google products, such as Nexus 7 tablets, Chromecast dongles, and even a full lineup of Chromebook laptops. Unfortunately for those looking to try out future products, like Google Glass, you are out of luck – these aren’t the mystery barges. 

The shops aren’t just retail spaces though, as they feature interactive snow globes that customers can go inside and play around with fake snow. You can even have slow motion video recorded of your time inside, and it looks to be quite fun.

The shops are located in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Sacramento, New Jersey, and Chicago. For exact locations of the shops, check here.

I stopped by the Daily Candy's Bazaar before it closed for Saturday night to check it out.  When I first arrived, I was greeted with a ceiling-ful of balloons with pink ribbon.

First thought, ooh, I can grab one.  Turns out it's for a good cause and...

And a fun benefiting win-win surprise! Donate $5 and find out if you win a fun treat or a gift tag good for a discount at one of the Bazaar shops by picking a balloon.  Not only that, 100% of your contribution will be donated to Free Arts NYC - POP!  I haven't tried doing that yet, but try it and see what surprise you get!
