With two days left, which ends Monday, September 8, 2014, here is why you shouldn't miss the US Open Viewing Party with Giveaways event.
Once you arrive at Brooklyn Bridge Park, you're greeted by the American Express banners welcoming you!
Finally, when you trek onto Pier 1, this banner next to the tent tells you the menu for the day.
Upon lining up, you have to sign a release that you promise you won't sue American Express and their affiliates in conjunction with their giveaways and noting that the food may contain nuts - so if you're allergic, be careful!
If you are among the first 500 to arrive on the weekend, you get to snag a lovely insulated cooler picnic basket and a very nice lunch box. You might want to get there by 10AM for 11AM event start.
In my case, it was a choice of Jambon Beurre, which is country ham and French butter, Vegetable Sandwich which consists of grilled zucchini, tomato, arugula, olives on demi-baguette or a Turkey Sandwich consisting of tomato and lettuce on demi-baguette. The sides are chips, the dessert are madeleines and the beverage is water.
This is how the picnic basket looks like along with the boxed lunch. It also has a zipper so you can keep your food cool or warm. Great for your supermarket trips! And, it's collapsible when not in use.

The bridge views are breath-taking from the Brooklyn side!

Follow the banners!
Don't forget to snap a photo or two of the skyline and view!
Looks like there is an area for kids and adults to have some tennis fun too!
Inside the lunch box, there was a flier from Epicerie Boulud to redeem a free tennis ball macaron (AKA lemon macaron with vanilla marshmallow-yuzu cream) at 1900 Broadway at 64th Street.
Limit 1 per person while supplies last.
If you got one of these last week, note that they only have 50 of these daily. You might have to come back early the next day. The said macaron is said to be twice the size of their regular sized mini macarons.
It looks like the tennis macarons were out, but the person was kind enough to offer a box of 4 marshmallow macarons worth $4 in place of it - see the patriotic red, white and blue ones?
Oh and you can also snag a really nice foldable picnic blankie, thanks to American Express, it's fleece-y on one side and plastic-y on the other. Available everyday until September 8th, 2014. Great for picnics and also to keep you warm and toasty in the winter.
Enjoy the US Open and the swag! #EveryDayMoments
